The very first snow arrived today, marking the end of our Summer and Autumn season. We ended with our September and October relaxation retreats, both were lovely weeks that Joany and I enjoyed running. We met some great people, who had lots of interesting and inspiring stories to tell. The weeks combined morning yoga, walking, craft, storytelling and much more…
Bob Pegg joined us for a couple of evenings, telling his unique form of stories, which he illustrated with the many instruments he has collected from all over the place. We love having Bob, I especially love to hear the sounds of his flutes as they resonate around the room.
We spent a couple of days immersed in craft; Felt-making using local fleece and naturally dyed wool. There were some beautiful creations, including some lovely silk and alpaca scarves. On our October retreat we also ran a batik workshop. There were some lovely designs in wax which we then dyed with natural indigo.
Morning Yoga was led by Joanie -relaxing Hatha yoga to set us up for the rest of the day. We spent many of the days out walking in the some of the areas local beauty spots including, Plodda waterfalls, Corrimony Cairn, Glen Affric and Loch Ness.
At times it felt like we were walking into Autumn!
One of our guests even managed a dip in the loch in October- which was very impressive on a frosty day. The returning swimmer deserved a good glug of sloe vodka, a deep bath and a hot chocolate!
Lots of wonderful memories.
